In the aftermath of recent protests demanding Hollman Morris’s resignation over allegations of workplace harassment at RTVC, the Office of the Attorney General has disclosed its findings from a preventive visit conducted this week.
The Public Prosecutor’s office engaged with the Coexistence Committee of the Public Media System to investigate the handling of reported cases of workplace harassment, particularly that involving the TV sub-manager, Hollman Morris.
The Procuraduría verified the actions taken by the Coexistence Committee to date, which recently heard from Lina Marcela Moreno Zapata. Further testimonies, including that of Silvana Orlandelli Uruburu, are anticipated.
Silvana Orlandelli Uruburu, director of Señal Colombia, detailed the demotivation and sadness within the team, asserting that Morris had consistently undermined morale by labeling them as ‘the others from the previous administration.’ Lina Moreno, director of Canal Institucional, expressed challenges in building a team with the Television Sub-Management, citing constant demands for justifications that have led to a weakening of the management’s efforts.
The Procuraduría plans to summon Hollman Morris to the RTVC Committee, acknowledging the need for dialogue between the involved parties to reach a resolution. Furthermore, officials learned of another harassment complaint against Morris involving two other RTVC public servants during their visit.
The Procuraduría underscored that if no resolution is reached, the committee must refer the matter to the Oversight Body for disciplinary assessment. In response to the Procuraduría’s formal request for processing complaints, Morris emphasized the call to follow due process, citing Law 1010 of 2006, which assigns the coexistence committee the responsibility of handling and resolving complaints.
