Tragedy Strikes Morales, Bolívar: Three Lives Lost in Violent Turn of Patron Saint Festivities

In a shocking turn of events, the patron saint festivities in Morales, Bolívar, took a grim turn, ending in a tragedy that claimed the lives of three individuals, according to a report by the Institute for Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz) on Sunday.

The massacre unfolded in the town of Morales, Bolívar, with Indepaz confirming that the victims include two men and one woman. The individuals have been identified as Bridys Vanina Orozco Muñoz, 29 years old, originally from Barranquilla; Yesid Beleño Torres, 22 years old; and Brayan Rodríguez Villafañe, a 15-year-old minor. Reportedly, they were all participating in the local patron saint festivities.

This tragic incident adds to another violent episode that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, January 21, in a residence in El Copey, Cesar. Two men entered the premises and launched a firearm attack on those present, further highlighting the concerning rise in violent incidents in the region. Local authorities are actively investigating both cases to bring clarity to the circumstances surrounding these unfortunate events.
